I am a 22-year-old college student. Born and raised in Amarillo, Texas.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
— Romans 12:2

Photography has been a passion of mine since I was in middle school, and with God’s help, it is becoming my everyday life.

Photography has always been a passion of mine. I remember being in middle school, babysitting a little girl, and snapping candid shots of her playing. Not long after, I took a photo of a flower right after it rained — something about the way the droplets clung to the petals just captivated me. Those early photos sparked something deep inside me. I fell in love with capturing moments — the kind you can’t recreate, only preserve.

Since 2017, I’ve been on an on-and-off journey with photography, experimenting with different styles and learning to develop my eye. But this past year felt different. I felt a clear prompting to take photography more seriously — to step into it professionally. There was just one problem: I didn’t have a camera of my own. Financially, it didn’t seem possible, and honestly, I didn’t even know where to begin. So I prayed, “Lord, if you’ve placed this desire on my heart, I trust you’ll provide a way.”

Shortly after that, I started serving at my church, using their camera to document services and events. I poured my heart into it, not knowing where it would lead, but trusting the process. A few months later, during our annual Night of Worship, I was running around as usual, capturing moments, when a dear friend stopped me and asked, “Have you thought about doing this professionally?” I told her it was definitely a dream, but I was leaving it in God’s hands.

Just seconds after that conversation, I walked into the foyer and was approached by a sweet woman who said, “My husband is looking for you; he needs your help.” I figured he had a media task for me or wanted to talk about photography. But when I found him, he handed me a camera and said, “I want you to have this.”

That moment changed my life. It was a clear answer to my prayer — a reminder that when God places something on your heart, He will make a way.
